Volunteer Stories

Jean Sepate is a native Cincinnatian. She has her Masters in Social Work and worked at Lighthouse Youth Services for 32 Years. She is currently an adjunct professor teaching social work classes at the University of Cincinnati and Xavier University. Jean has volunteered at QCK for 32 years ago. For 30 of those years, she served as a Weekend Warrior every second Saturday. She now volunteers once a week in the pantry and her husband Pete drives the van on Tuesdays. Jean loves QCK because every guest that comes through is treated with respect and dignity.

Jessica Del Cid was born and raised in Los Angeles, but has resided in Cincinnati since October of 2015, after relocating with her wife, Laura. They now have two children, Alexander, 3.5, and Corinne, 11 months. Jessica is a trained social worker and former corporate mentoring program manager. She is dedicated to providing a warm and caring experience while serving the guests at QCK, and has been volunteering here since October of 2016. She loves volunteering, and she loves the QCK staff, guests, fellow volunteers, and the sense of community at QCK!
